    Hello Mike,
I followed you here from the open photography forum and I’m so delighted to see your work. Its you that we see in the pictures. Perhaps the most honest and ‘real’ experiences of the soul captured. I think you’ve bridged the most important canyon any artist strives to overcome, the canyon between the self and its physical representation.
    All the best,

  2. Prateek, thanks. I am honoured by your comment.

Hi. Could you please let me know more about how you gotaround the issue of the white specks on Rollei 80S? i’ve had a similar experience and wasn’t sure if the film was from a bad batch or if it is a characteristic of the film.

    • Hi Hasan

I haven’t fully solved it, but all my films improved when I strated using tap water rather than acid stop bath in processing. Not sure if this is just my experience. I’ve also reduecd the amount of Ilfotol (rinse aid) to about 2 to 2.5ml per litre of water. I use tap water, but ours is pretty soft – to the point where dishwashers don’t need rinse aid at all – and more recent films have been better. I’ve also moved to using xtol at 1+2 for the Rollei, though I’m not sure that has any effect compared to Rodinal. None of these seem to be the absolute answer, but the problem has got better.

Having said all that, it makes really nice prints.
